BREAKING NEWS: Travis Kelce’s Stolen Item Recovered 1400 Miles Away After Home Raid .giang

Kansas City Chiefs superstar Travis Kelce has been reunited with a watch that was stolen when an international crime ring raided his $6 million mansion last month. Authorities, according to The Sun, retrieved Kelce’s watch in Providence, Rhode Island, which is more than 1,400 miles away from where Kelce lives.

Thieves stole Kelce’s first Super Bowl Jersey, designer clothes, and at least $100,000 worth of jewelry, according to a report earlier this month, in what appeared to be a targeted raid as homes belonging to Chiefs teammates were also broken into.

Fox 4 Kansas City reported that $20,000 in cash was taken. A back door at the Kelce residence was damaged during the incident.

Kelce’s property was burglarized shortly after the start of the NFL game between the New Orleans Saints and the Chiefs. The game took place at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City.

Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes was also a victim of the crime spree. The FBI begun its investigation into the incidents early October. “Obviously, it’s frustrating,” said Mahomes at the time to Fox 4 Kansas City.

“It’s disappointing, but I can’t get into too many of the details because the investigation is ongoing. But it’s something you don’t want to happen to anybody but obviously yourself.”

Investigators believe Mahomes and Kelce’s home burglaries could be a part of a wider issue in which athletes in other sports are also impacted. The NFL even provided a security alert on Thursday to teams, and members of the players’ union. A memo which AP obtained from the league said athletes across other sports have been “increasingly targeted for burglaries by organized and skilled groups.”

Police believe the homes of athletes are targeted while they are at games, as criminals know they won’t be at home. NFL players have been advised to optimize their home security, AP reported.

The perpetrators are believed to have conducted surveillance through “attempted home deliveries” or masquerading as joggers in the community to gather intel on their targets, AP said.

Kansas City Chiefs travel to Bank of America Stadium for an NFL game Sunday, November 24 against Carolina Panthers before welcoming Las Vegas Raiders to Arrowhead for a November 29 match.

The franchise finishes the year with games against the Los Angeles Chargers on December 8, Cleveland Browns on December 15, Houston Texans on December 21, and Pittsburgh Steelers on December 25.
