Fans tuning into the college football top-five showdown between Ohio State and Indiana were left fuming as FOX Sports decided not to show replays during the broadcast.

On Saturday, No. 2 Ohio State crushed No. 5 Indiana, securing a 31-15 victory that sends the Buckeyes to the Big Ten title game. The program can now look forward to a rematch with No. 1 Oregon, who gave Ohio State its sole loss on the season in a thriller.

Indiana entered the game unbeaten, but the Hoosiers were no match for Ohio State. Will Howard threw for 201 yards and two touchdowns, while Indiana’s Kurtis Rourke could only complete 8 of 18 passes for a measly 68 yards in the heavy defeat.

Indiana fans may not have enjoyed the game due to the performance and the loss. However, plenty of viewers were left frustrated by FOX’s coverage of the game, which didn’t include any replays during the game.

“How does FOX not show a single replay after that false start penalty?” one fan wrote. “Absolutely huge call & they don’t even bother to show it to us??”

“Can’t properly react to the 3rd down penalty because FOX refused to show a replay,” posted another. The Athletic’s Chris Vannini took to social media to write: “Would’ve liked a replay of that false start penalty that was a really big call!”

X account Awful Announcing responded to Vannini’s insight and replied: “Fox is notoriously stingy with replays. They often prefer crowd, band, and cheerleader shots. Sure, but when fans want to see a replay…”

Ultimately, the win is a big step for Ohio State. Indiana hadn’t faced a ranked opponent all season and, after taking the lead with an impressive touchdown drive for the opening score, their offense struggled to keep up with the Buckeyes.

Before the game, Ohio State head coach Ryan Day addressed the pressure of coaching such a prestigious program. Appearing on ‘The Pat McAfee Show’, Day said: “I mean, every year when you come to Ohio State, you want to win it all.

“You know, you have certain goals that you set, and like – the guys who want to be here, you have to understand, like, you’re here to win every single game, and that’s the way it goes, and that’s the way you want in life. You know, you don’t want it any other way.”

He added: “Again, I had this article that I read, and it was just talking about how, like, you know, some people wrestle alligators, some people chew on razor blades, some people want to go to Ohio State and play football because that’s just what they want to do. They want to be in the tiger’s den, and that’s what — that’s what tomorrow is going to be like.”

The 10-1 Buckeyes are next in action against 5-5 Michigan on Saturday, Nov. 30.
