Katie Taylor’s career trajectory remains firmly in her own gloves.
Following her second triumph over Amanda Serrano, securing victory at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, earlier this month, she remains the undisputed champion in both the lightweight and super-lightweight divisions.
Taylor is now at a juncture where retirement isn’t a distant thought; yet, with her elite status, tantalizing fights beckon with trilogies with Serrano and Chantelle Cameron that will surely stoke her competitive fire.

Chantelle Cameron trilogy
Taylor and Cameron are intertwined in history, with Cameron being the sole fighter to dethrone Taylor inside the ropes. Their tale began in 2023, first with Cameron claiming victory in May, only to be countered by Taylor’s vengeance come November.
And while there’s been chatter about a third clash, Cameron, represented by Frank Warren’s Queensbury Promotions. Earlier this year, the Northampton native claimed that Taylor was on the hunt for an “easier fight”, instead of pushing for their third fight.
“Chantelle Cameron is ready and waiting for the trilogy clash with Katie Taylor,” Warren declared in his latest Daily Star column. “There’s no fight out there which makes more sense than a clash with Cameron for the Irish fighter. I’ve seen plenty of talk this week about a third bout with Amanda Serrano after their thrilling fight in Dallas.
“But Taylor is 2-0 against the Puerto Rican why would they have a third showdown? Queensberry star Cameron is the only woman to have a win over Taylor in the paid ranks.”

Amanda Serrano trilogy
Despite Taylor having notched two wins against Serrano, the most recent by unanimous decision, some fans and Serrano herself felt her performance might have warranted a victory, with Serrano describing her loss as “a little shady”.
Taylor mulled over the idea of a third fight with Serrano post-match, questioning its necessity given her 2-0 standing against the unified featherweight champ: “I’ve beat her twice now, so is there any need for a trilogy?”
While expressing doubts about the need for another rematch, Taylor conceded she’s open to the challenge if Serrano seeks another shot at redemption: “But if she wants it, it’s her fight [and] I can absolutely give it to her again.”
The Irish Star report how Serrano seemed to dismiss the idea of a third face-off with Taylor, instead showing support for Cameron to get her trilogy completed first. She expressed her camaraderie on social media, tweeting: “I Love @chantellecam that’s my girl 100 per cent.
“She definitely deserves her shot again. As much as I want my trilogy, I’m rooting for her. I don’t care what anyone says I’m a huge fan of hers and don’t want to see her not get it.”

Potential retirement
As the boxing world buzzes with talk of potential trilogies against Cameron and Serrano, Taylor faces another crossroads: retirement. With an impressive 24-1 record and reigning supreme in two weight classes, stepping away now would mean leaving the ring while on top.
Following her recent victory, the 38-year-old boxer contemplated her future, sharing: “I’m gonna have to make that decision now obviously in the next few days or so. But I love my sport, I love my boxing and tonight was a great night. But I do feel like I have maybe one or two more fights in me.”
Taylor reminisced about her homecoming fight in Ireland at the 3Arena, describing it as “amazing” and expressing her desire for a bout at Croke Park: “I had my homecoming in Ireland in the 3Arena. It was amazing to headline the 3Arena twice. Absolutely incredible. I’d love a Croke Park fight for sure, but we’ll see what happens.”

Her promoter Eddie Hearn hinted that it would take something truly special to bring Taylor back into the ring, saying: “How much have we talked about it over the years and, like if there was ever a time… I’ve actually said this before, to be fair,” during his conversation with Off The Ball. He added, considering the timing: “But we’re in November now, that gives you enough preparation for a summer event at Croke Park.
“We’ve just seen the biggest female fight of all time in front of the biggest audience of all time. It’s like, surely… and I’ll be honest with you, I don’t think it’s 100 per cent guaranteed that Katie Taylor will fight again. I’m sure she will, but it’s going to take something pretty special and unique.”
