Delonte West’s personal issues in continue, as the former NBA star struggles with life outside of basketball.
The former Dallas Mavericks guard, 41, was arrested on November 2 for allegedly trespassing in Virginia, Fairfax County Police Department confirmed to Mirror U.S. Sports.
Officers responded to a trespassing call in Huntington on November 1. The complainant showed officers video footage of a banned suspect at the location refusing to leave. Officers then identified West as the suspect and warrants were obtained.
On November 2, officers observed West walking near the Huntington Metro. He was then arrested and transported Fairfax County Adult Detention Center, where a warrant for trespassing was served, and he was held on a $1,000 bond.

West has had a long history with mental health disorders after being diagnosed with Bipolar Disorder in 2008. Bipolar Disorder is a mental disorder that causes unusual shifts in a person’s mood, energy, activity levels, and concentration, according to the National Institute of Mental Health.
In a rare interview in 2022, West gave an insight into what his life was like living with bipolar disorder. Speaking with ABC News, the former NBA guard revealed how his was life having continually dealt with the disorder, even during his playing days, which led to outbursts in locker rooms.
“It’s definitely been a spiritual journey you know, dealing with being bipolar,” West said at the time. “A missed shot or lost game, it can turn it into a spiraling snowballing depression type of thing where, you know, to where it takes me hours or it took me hours just to leave the gym.”
West spent nine seasons in the NBA, starting his career with the Boston Celtics after being selected No. 24 overall in the 2004 NBA Draft. He spent time with the then-Seattle Supersonics and Cleveland Cavaliers before spending another season in Boston.
He last played for the Mavericks during the 2011-12 season before bouncing around the G-League – then known as the D-League – and China. West has not played professional basketball since 2015.
