BREAKING NEWS: Mariah Carey Shares Thoughts on Twins Roc and Roe Pursuing Careers in Entertainment .giang

Mariah Carey has thoughts about her twins Monroe and Moroccan, 13, working in the entertainment industry.

In an exclusive interview with PEOPLE, the R&B icon, 55, discussed whether or not she’d be open to them pursuing careers in the field.

“I think they’re both very talented and smart, and if they want to pursue having a life as an entertainer, then I think they should,” says Carey of her two children, whom she shares with ex-husband Nick Cannon and who have been performing at her Christmas shows.

She adds, “It’s a hard kind of life, but they seem to really love performing, so I’m happy for them.”

On Wednesday, Dec. 25, Carey shared a series of cute snaps on Instagram with Monroe and Moroccan as they celebrated Christmas.

The family of three smiled together with Santa Claus in front of a glowing Christmas tree.

While Carey’s two kids opted for sweats and pajamas during the celebration, the “All I Want for Christmas Is You” hitmaker sported a red velvet gown and white fur coat.

“Merry Christmas!!! ❤️🎄❤️🎄❤️🎄,” she captioned her post.

On Tuesday, Dec. 10, Carey shared a video on Instagram featuring Monroe and Moroccan presenting her with a large bouquet of flowers during her Raleigh, North Carolina, concert on Monday, Dec. 9.

The twins appeared in front of the crowd of concertgoers after a man came on stage and said, “I don’t mean to interrupt you, but I just want to let y’all know we’re going to give her flowers tonight because we just found out ‘All I Want for Christmas’ is No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100. Make some noise for the queen of Christmas.”

Recently, Carey also revealed to PEOPLE that she has no plans to stop doing her Christmas shows any time soon — but she might make some changes.

“It’s probably something that I’ll always do. I just need to schedule it a little bit differently because this year I’d gotten sick just from being out there too long,” she said after canceling three recent shows while recovering from the flu.

Carey also said she was not “sick of” Christmas music yet.

“I’m in Aspen, and right now ‘Oh, Santa’ is playing over the speakers, and I’m like, ‘I guess I’m not sick of it,’” she said.
