SPORT NEWS: Cameron Brink Stuns Courtside Cheering for JuJu Watkins, Shocking Stanford Fans.giang

It’s not quite as controversial as supporting the California Golden Bears, but for a Stanford Cardinal alum, it comes pretty close. Cameron Brink, a former first-team All-American for Stanford, made waves recently when she was spotted courtside at a high-profile matchup between JuJu Watkins and the No. 3 USC Trojans against the No. 6 Notre Dame Fighting Irish.

Seated among A-list celebrities like Michael B. Jordan and Snoop Dogg, the Los Angeles Sparks star, who is also a Sports Illustrated Swimsuit model, did something that had Stanford fans shaking their heads—she posed for a photo doing the iconic USC “Fight On” hand sign.

The image, shared on USC Trojans Women’s Basketball’s Instagram account, showed Brink proudly flashing the “Fight On” hand gesture, a symbol synonymous with the University of Southern California.

For someone who had once donned Stanford’s iconic red and white, this act was close to sacrilege. As a 22-year-old rising star who had made her mark on the collegiate basketball scene, Brink’s gesture felt like a betrayal to her Stanford roots.

Despite the stir it caused, it wasn’t entirely surprising to see Brink at the game. Arguably the Sparks’ biggest star, even though her rookie season was cut short by an ACL injury, Brink was there to witness one of the most exciting young talents in women’s basketball—19-year-old sophomore sensation JuJu Watkins.

Watkins has been lighting up the court for USC, and her growing reputation has made her a must-watch player. But for Brink to do the “Fight On” gesture as a proud Cardinal alum? Many fans couldn’t help but see it as blasphemous.

To her credit, Brink looked absolutely stunning as she attended the game. Known for her influence on social media and her modeling career, she made quite the fashion statement courtside. Brink wore a black miniskirt paired with matching knee-high black boots and a sleek leather coat, which she accented with a sky-blue midriff top and a coordinating purse.

Her outfit turned heads and further solidified her place as a fashion icon both on and off the court.

The game itself saw Notre Dame get the best of USC, winning 74-61. Despite the loss, Los Angeles basketball fans can’t help but dream of a future where JuJu Watkins teams up with Brink and the rest of the Sparks.

With the Sparks holding the No. 2 pick in next year’s WNBA draft, there’s a possibility that Watkins could end up playing alongside Brink, creating an exciting local tandem for the franchise.

In the meantime, Brink may have some explaining to do to her former college teammates and Stanford fans. Her decision to throw up the “Fight On” sign might have been in good fun, but it certainly raised a few eyebrows back in Palo Alto.

For now, it seems Brink’s allegiance might be more fluid than some of her die-hard Stanford supporters would like to believe.

However, her presence at the game was a testament to her passion for the sport and her support for the growth of women’s basketball, no matter which team she’s cheering for.

As the season continues and the Sparks look ahead to the WNBA draft, all eyes will be on JuJu Watkins and the potential for her to join Brink in Los Angeles.

Until then, Cameron Brink’s courtside appearance—and her controversial gesture—will remain a memorable moment in the intersection of college loyalty, celebrity culture, and the ever-growing excitement surrounding women’s basketball.
