Travis Kelce has joked that he has ‘erased’ the memory of his former show ‘Catching Kelce’ – where 50 girls entered looking to date him.
The 2016 show on E saw Kelce eliminate 49 other women who had battled for his attention before going on to choose a winner, Maya Benberry, who he would date for several months. The NFL superstar has joked about the show on multiple occasions, with him now set to return to the screens away from the football field.
Kelce’s fame has risen exponentially over the past year after being in a highly-publicized relationship with Taylor Swift, making the tight end a household name. Now, he’s set to launch his new gig as a host of Amazon Prime’s new show ‘Are You Smarter Than A Celebrity?’.

Swifties were less than impressed when they became aware of ‘Catching Kelce’, with thousands returning to watch the show after his relationship with the ‘Bad Blood’ singer became public. And Kelce, who is keen to put the show behind him in light of his new, mega reationship, was asked about his former show and if he’s learned anything from being it that he can take into his new Prime Video endeavor.
“I’ve erased all of those memories… What show are you talking about there?” he told PEOPLE. “I’m kidding. I guess I learned how to kind of patiently wait on set, getting the cameras ready. Filming is a little bit more waiting than people realize, especially in the entertainment and TV world. I think that was probably the one thing I learned from Catching Kelce.”

The upcoming show is a 20-episode celebrity spin-off of the hit show ‘Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader?,’ and will be premiered on Prime Video in more than 240 countries worldwide. While being apart of the show, Kelce is in the midst of being one of the key players on an NFL team looking to create history by becoming the first to win three consecutive Super Bowl’s.
The tight end is coming toward the end of his career aged 35, but remains quarterback Patrick Mahmomes’ go-to option to throw too on the favorites to make it to the championship game. The Chiefs have started the season extremely well, going 5-0 and leading AFC West.
